I checked the lists of the 71 and 19 publications by looking for topics that would seem unrelated to Zika virus and by checking the affiliations for at least some papers in each disambiguation group, which resulted in the author's item being annotated with such affiliation information: https://www.wikidata.org/w/index.php?title=Q32642588&type=revision&diff=825644710&oldid=809718329&diffmode=source .

A batch to link the paper items to the author item is now underway: https://tools.wmflabs.org/quickstatements/#/batch/6727 .

Since the web archiving of the above pages did not work, I also took screenshots — could upload them to Commons as that might help documentation.
