Wikibase is a set of MediaWiki extensions that provide the semantic backbone to Wikidata and a growing ecosystem of other wikis, as indexed in the Wikibase registry.

That backbone has multiple components, e.g.

• conversion of wiki page content from structured forms into RDF
• syncing between source and client wikis
• SPARQL endpoint

There are several ways in which IIAB could be integrated with Wikibase instances

• index IIAB deployments and their components in a dedicated Wikibase
• use Wikidata identifiers for semantics (e.g. tagging) in IIAB contexts
• provide mechanisms to include Wikibase instances (or their respective RDF graphs) in IIAB deployments, be it complete or partial or as a vanilla installation (i.e. free of content but ready to be used)
