It's been over a decade since I last used it - until it came up today via the code used to generate
https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Wikidata_item_creation_progress_no_text.svg , which has both a Python and a Gnuplot component (the latter for no reason obvious to me).

In any case, there are also online tools for Gnuplotting now, e.g.
http://gnuplot.respawned.com/ .
