Right now, the query usually times out, and has a LIMIT of 1 anyway.

Probably better to make use of P1932. I have started to play with that at
https://www.wikidata.org/wiki/Wikidata:WikiProject_Source_MetaData/Wikidata_lists/Author_name_strings_matched_to_author_items_using_Stated_As .

Taking the example of
https://tools.wmflabs.org/scholia/author/Q59569325 ,
it should not link to the SPARQL query
but instead to something that lists all the author name strings given for the author's existing papers, and links them to the Author Disambiguator, e.g. as per
https://tools.wmflabs.org/author-disambiguator/?name=Jerrold+P+Weiss&doit=Look+for+author&filter=wdt%3AP2093+%22Jerrold+P+Weiss%22 .

That part has been commented out a while ago, so the ticket can perhaps be closed.
