the Research Software Engineer (RSE) movement has begun creating a new class of academic positions

I think this misrepresents the RSE movement's mission.

Either rephrase as

"the Research Software Engineer (RSE) movement has begun creating a new set of career paths that explicitly value software work in research environments"

Or if the intention was to focus on the movement in the US:

"the Research Software Engineer (RSE) movement in the United States has begun creating a new class

I think this might have been fixed already, if it's in section 2.6 - I can't tell from this issue what the context is
