What happens now?

This submission is currently in a pre-review state which means we are waiting for an editor to be assigned and for them to find some reviewers for your submission. This may take anything between a few hours to a couple of weeks. Thanks for your patience 😸

You can help the editor by looking at this list of potential reviewers to identify individuals who might be able to review your submission (please start at the bottom of the list). Also, feel free to suggest individuals who are not on this list by mentioning their GitHub handles here.

👋 @TomDonoghue - thanks for this submission. I'm going to assign myself as editor, and while I'll be slower than normal to respond over the next 2 weeks, I think we'll be able to make progress.

For your part, please look at this list of potential reviewers and identify individuals who might be able to review your submission (please start at the bottom of the list). Also, please suggest individuals who are not on this list by mentioning their GitHub handles here. I also have some ideas for reviewers...

👋 @pgroth - would you be willing to review this submission for JOSS? (If you haven't done this before, which I think is the case, you might want to take a look at the JOSS review guidelines and specifically JOSS review criteria)

Hey @danielskatz - thanks for editing this submission!

I re-generated the PDF to fix some bullet lists that I hadn't quite formatted right.

In terms of reviewers, from the list of JOSS reviewers, the most relevant listings seem to me to be:

These aren't people I know personally, just the ones on the list for Python, who seemed to have the most related topic interests.

Hi - I'm on vacation, so this will happen a little slower than normal (but still faster than a traditional journal), and thanks in advance for your patience
