Gotten several requests from authors writing in Spanish for APA 6 without ampersand. Would we want to just switch the locale for Spanish to use "y" for `and="symbol"`?

Awesome! You just created a pull request to the Citation Styles Language styles repository. One of our human volunteers will try to get in touch soon (usually within a week). In the meantime, I will run some automated checks. You should be notified of the results in a few minutes. If you haven't done so yet, please make sure your style validates and follows all our other Style Requirements. To update this pull request, visit the "Files changed" tab above, click on the ellipsis button in the top-right corner of your style, and then select "Edit file" to start editing: If you have any questions, please leave a comment and we'll get back to you. While we usually respond in English, feel free to write in whatever language you're most comfortable. |

Below are some sample citations generated based on your proposed changes: apa-6th-edition-no-ampersand.csl (new)(“CSL Search by Example,” 2012; Hancké, Rhodes, and Thatcher, 2007) |
Doing this from memory, but I don't think and="symbol" can be localized? I think that should be on the list for CSL 1.0.2 (or wherever that discussion ended up ;). If I'm wrong, I'd be happy to see this localized, yes, I've gotten the same complaint about APA in Spanish a number of times; I think that's why we created the original option. |
Ah, yes, forgot about that. Once |
So would we want to turn this style into a Spanish one, then? |
I don't think so, no. It's just a particular common scenario for not wanting the & |
Can this be merged? |
